Corona students offer free online tutoring service

This spring, after schools began distance learning because of the coronavirus pandemic, three students at Santiago High School in Corona started a free online tutoring service for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Shree Reddy, Kaitlyn Park and Sanya Dhama, all rising seniors, founded GoToTutors, which matches K-12 students with qualified high school and college volunteers, according to a news release.

Tutoring sessions are conducted through 45-minute Zoom calls between the tutor and the student, with the timing adjusted according to the subject material and age of the student.

GoToTutors is continuing tutoring sessions through the summer and is now offering English lessons for Spanish speakers, according to the news release.

For information and to schedule tutoring sessions, go to gototutors.org. Information is also available at facebook.com/gototutors/ and instagram.com/gototutors/.
