Now that summer is here, my children are approaching their last days of school. They’ll still be at day camp most of the day, but their learning in the classroom will be decreased.
While they’re home, I still want to provide learning opportunities for them to be engaged in educational activities. The Noggin app is perfect for that, as my kids think it’s a fun game with their favorite characters, but they’re also learning new concepts and practicing skills in preparation for pre-k and kindergarten!
The Noggin Learning App
If your child loves Nick Jr. shows like Blaze, Paw Patrol, and Blues Clues, then let them try the Noggin Learning App by Nick Jr.- They won’t want to put it down! There are plenty of shows and games for them to play, all incorporating their favorite characters from the shows.
Since my kids have started using the app, they have learned so many new concepts and it shows! From math skills like more vs less vs same, healthy habits and choosing healthy foods, and even phonics for sounding out small words.
While they’re playing these games, they are also developing their fine and visual motor skills as they use their pointer finger to drag, click, and drop on the screen. By using this interactive app, they’re listening and following directions while they’re playing, as well.
Noggin app includes Bob Books which my 3 year old daughter has started reading to develop sight words and sounding out small word families. I love that these books are available on the Noggin app so she can read them interactively on a tablet.
Don’t want your child sitting in front of a screen all day? There are also physical activities to get them up and moving! The interactive nature of this app helps your child to learn by ensuring that they’re engaged in the activity rather than passively watching it.
Noggin App Free Trial
At the time of publication, there is a 60 day free-trial of Noggin available until June 30, 2021. Be sure to take advantage of this trial before it’s gone!
