Yellowstone National Park is making it possible for teachers everywhere to take their kids on a virtual field trip to the world’s first national park, even if they’re too far away to make the trip!
Teachers can now schedule live lessons with a Yellowstone National Park ranger to teach their students more about geology, ecology, cultural history, and the National Park Service’s mission of preservation. During these 20-40 minute distance-learning sessions, park rangers work remotely with students to bring science, math, and social studies to life.
If you’re a teacher with ten or more students and you’d like to participate, you’ll need a computer, a tablet, or another device with a webcam, an internet connection, and access to a video conference platform.
When you’re ready to schedule your Yellowstone distance learning program, just head on over here to provide your contact information and your desired date and time. You will then have the opportunity to collaborate with a ranger to help customize a live program that meets your needs.
If you’re not a teacher but have a child who’s interested in learning more about Yellowstone from home, you can also access some fun and educational pre-recorded lessons and printable activities for free. Enjoy!
