THE SCARECROW BOOK ACTIVITIES
The Scarecrow by Beth Ferry is a sweet fall read aloud!
Scarecrow does a good job standing in the meadow. The forest creatures don't dare to venture too close to him!
One day a baby crow falls from a tree, and Scarecrow bends to pick it up and keep it safe. A bond is soon formed.
Scarecrow cares for the crow until it's able to fly away. He is now alone...and lonely.
The following spring, who should come back to visit? The crow, and its mate! They fix Scarecrow up, then make a nest in his pocket.
Soon there is a generation of new baby crows to love, and Scarecrow is happy.
This book study unit is filled with companion literacy activities to go with this fall favorite. It's Common Core aligned, and is perfect for Kindergarten and First Grade.
It includes a craftivity that works great as a fall themed bulletin board, to showcase student learning.
