Clare V. and Parachute are hosting a shindig.

Attracting a similar hipster-slash-cool-girl customer isn't the only thing L.A. brands Clare V. and Parachute have in common—their Hayes Valley outposts share a fabulous courtyard. On Thursday, October 23rd, that very courtyard, and both stores, will be in serious soirée mode. Sips, snacks, tunes, and free monogramming are on the agenda. CV will be offering gold-foil stamping with any handbag (or small leather goods) purchase, while Parachute has employed Lot Stock to create hand-stitched monograms on their sheets, shams, etc. The best part? Both founders, Clare Vivier and Ariel Kaye, will be in da house. // 6pm to 9pm, Oct. 23; Clare V, 344 Linden St.; Parachute, 445 Hayes St. (Hayes Valley), clarev.com, parachutehome.com
Clomp Alert: Bryr is hosting a sample sale in Dogpatch on Saturday.

It's all about clogs, glorious clogs at Bryr's fourth annual sample sale on Saturday, October 26th, at Dogpatch WineWorks, just a few doors down from the studio-cum-store of cobbler extraordinaire Isobel Schofield. Shoppers will find hundreds of pairs of handmade and swoon-worthy clogs at 20 to 70 percent off regular prices (around $270). The inventory's a mix of seconds (with minor flaws) and styles in never-seen-before colors. Gently used clogs will also be available, and proceeds from those sales will be donated to the Pawsitive Change Program and Caravana Canina. We'll be on the lookout for the new Emma T-Strap, in any color. And, yes, you should expect a long queue. Guess it comes with the territory when living in Fog Clog City. Follow Bryr on Insta for updates the day of, and beyond. // 10am to 4pm, Oct. 26; Bryr sale will be held at WineWorks 2455 3rd St. (Dogpatch); bryrstudio.com.

Hill City opens its first brick-and-mortar store in SF's Hayes Valley.

Gap Inc.'s menswear brand landed in Hayes Valley just in time to blow out the first-birthday candles. (Obvi, Hill CIty's wish came true). Its first foray into real-life retailing is a yearlong pop-up that's minimal and sleek in design, and features a curated selection of pants, hoodies and outerwear known for their versatility and hidden technical innovations. Think water-repellant pants, sweat-wicking tees, temperature-regulating shirt-jackets and more. We hear older sis Athleta is beyond proud. // 522 Octavia St. (Hayes Valley), hillcity.com
