Vegas outfits: What to wear in Las Vegas for daytime and evening

Much of the world has been off limits for such a long time. But with Vegas returning to normal – if you can ever call Sin City “normal” of course – I thought it was time to take a look at what to wear to Vegas. Continue below for plenty of Las Vegas outfits for inspiration or to purchase online if you’re planning a trip.

What to consider when putting together your Las Vegas outfits

When planning your Las Vegas outfits here are a few things to keep in mind:

The weather

For much of the year, Vegas is very warm. But it definitely cools down during the winter months.

Plus, most of the buildings are air conditioned so you may find you get chilly if you go to the mall or for dinner. Be sure to pack an outer layer just in case. It’s all about layers when it comes to staying stylish and comfortable both inside and out.

Your itinerary

Obviously what you plan to do will have a big bearing on what you pack. It’s likely you’ll have a mixed itinerary if your are in Vegas. So, you may want some glamorous eveningwear, some casual daywear, and some comfortable shoes for walking the strip.

Are you staying in Vegas itself or taking day trips?

Will you be staying in the city for your whole trip, or might you do a bit of hiking in the desert scenery around Vegas?

Go bold

There’s nothing subtle about a destination that boasts a 540ft Eiffel Tower and its own Grand Canal, so it’s the perfect time to dress glamorously. Having said that, you’ll see plenty of casual wear on the strip too. Anything goes!

Erica @ericabunker above (read her style interview here) looks fabulous in her purple romper and snakeprint heels.

Now onto some Vegas outfits – daywear and then eveningwear

Now that you’re thinking about what you’re doing in Vegas, let’s move onto what to pack. You can, of course, alter this to suit your own plans…

A glamorous swimsuit

There are plenty of pool parties in Vegas. But even if you’re not partaking in one of those, you’ll probably want a swimsuit for around your hotel pool. For more inspiration and ideas, check our article on the best bathing suits.

Vegas is a pretty casual kind of place, at least during the day, so you’ll probably want a t-shirt you can wear with your shorts or jeans. You could always dress it up for evening by wearing with a skirt or wide-leg pants and accessorizing with a statement necklace and clutch bag.

Suzanne @asksuzannebell above (read her style interview here) elevates her casual outfit of jeans and a t-shirt by adding a tassel necklace and long leopard-print cardigan.

Vegas tends to be more casual during the day, and then people dress up a bit more to go to the casinos, dinner or a show in the evening. A blazer is an easy way to make your outfit look more formal.

Wendy @fashionoverfifty.wendy above opts for a check blazer with her asymmetric hem skirt. You can see this would work for a business conference or evening and then you could wear the blazer with jeans for a more casual look.

As mentioned earlier, Vegas is definitely a mix of casual and more formal dressing so a pair of jeans is a must on your packing list. You could wear your jeans with a t-shirt and sneakers for a daytime walk along the strip, or add a dressier top and heels for evening.
