Walmart Layaway for 2021 starts TOMORROW! This is a nice way to pay off items without interest or fees. Find out all the details right here!
Walmart Layaway 2021… Starts TOMORROW August 28
Need to put a larger purchase on Layaway this year at Walmart? We have confirmed that Walmart Layaway 2021 starts tomorrow and runs through early December. Here are all the details on how to use this layaway service.
Walmart Layaway for 2021 will run from August 28, 2021 to December 4, 2021
It's important to note, that NOT ALL STORES will offer layaway. Similar to 2020, select stores will offer their Walmart Layaway service for in-store purchases (unfortunately layaway is not valid for online purchases).
When does Walmart Layaway Start This Year?
For 2021, this will start Saturday, August 28, 2021 and the last day of layaway will be Saturday, December 4, 2021.
This service is available for the following categories:
- Media
- Gaming
- Cameras & Supplies
- Toys (check out the top 36 holiday toys we saw for 2020!)
- Sporting Goods
- Automotive
- Cooking & Dining
- Home Decor
- Fabrics & Crafts
- Bedding
- Wireless (excludes wireless phones that require contracts)
- Jewelry
How does Walmart Layaway work?
It's easy! You can follow these three steps to place something on layaway at Walmart and pay for it.
1 – Head to the designated layaway counter with the items you want to put on layaway
2 – Make a down payment of $10 or 10%, whichever is greater. Whenever you want to make a payment towards your Layaway item, you can do so right at any Walmart register.
The best part is that there are NO crazy interest fees or penalties to use Walmart Layaway! The only catch is that you can't put every single little thing on layaway. Individual items must be priced at $10 or more and your basket amount must be at least $50.
3 – Make your final Walmart Layaway payment and pick up the item on or before the final layaway date – which is December 4, 2021.
Planning to use Walmart Layaway for the Black Friday Sales this year?
Unfortunately, the Walmart Layaway service will not be available on November 25th, 2021 since Walmart stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
What can I do if my store doesn't offer layaway?
While we don't advocate using services that charge interest, you can use the Affirm program if your store doesn't offer layaway. This is basically a program where you can purchase the item and then pay for it in monthly installments. It does depend on approval and also does charge interest.
Also, Walmart Black Friday may look a little different AGAIN this year, but they're planning to offer MORE deals online starting in OCTOBER, so you can shop sooner than before – just like they did in 2020!
Also, Did you see that Walmart is also offering a membership now that *may* be better than Amazon Prime?! Check it out!
