A crossover draped blouse can be one of the most versatile work-to-weekend pieces, and this one (comes in several colors) has some extra feminine details including a silky finish and pearlized buttons along the sleeves. One of my personal favorite features is that the bottom is banded and elasticized so you don’t have to worry about tucking or if it’ll come untucked! The band creates the illusion of a perfectly tucked look regardless of what type of bottoms you pair it with.
Note that the “swan” color I have is lightweight and slightly sheer so I always wear a skin-toned bra with it. If you want more opaque coverage, I’ve been eying the black as another versatile option. Below are a few ways I’d style a blouse like this – which one is your favorite?
1. Business Casual
These bootcut trousers fit like a dream – definitely one of the most flattering bottoms I’ve bought in a while with no alterations needed on me. I’ve been pretty happy with a few their pants lately (thank you “short” inseam), all of which happen to be fairly wrinkle resistant too:
- Twill slim pant – Slim and fitted, full length pant on me that’s stretchy and elongating. Also in gray.
- Double pleat trouser – Looser cut, French chic straight leg pant that’s nice and lightweight
- Pleated ankle pant – See on me in “swan” here. Looser fit throughout.
- Tweed mini skirt – runs small for Express and the 00 should fit extra petite ladies with no alterations
