These Pop It Letters are all yours when you become a VIP Plato Pack Member. Just join, print and play!

Getting Ready

Prep, as always, is quick and simple. First, print the task cards and laminate them for added durability. Then, cut along the lines to separate the pieces.

Grab enough Pop Its for every student to have one and voila! You’re ready to go.

Pop It Letters

To play, students will pick up one task card at a time, say the letter out loud, and then form it on their Pop It.

Note: Research continues to show that it’s more helpful for students to learn letter SOUNDS than letter names, so this is a great chance for kids to identify the letters by sound.

For instance, if a child picked up the E card, she might say, “That’s /e/” (the sound) and then pop it on her popper.

Play continues until all 26 letters have been popped. It’s a perfect activity for independent literacy centers, morning tubs, choice time… so many parts of the day!
