11 Things to Pack for a Warm Vacation: Men’s Edition

We’re rapidly heading into the winter months, and for most of us north of the equator, it’s getting cold. While some of us are powder hounds and winter activists, many seek the brief solace of warm weather for vacation in these chilly months. Moving from cold to warm for vacation sometimes leads us to forget warm-weather essentials, so to save you from the snowy brain fog, we’ve compiled a list of 11 things you, as a man, need to pack for a warm-weather vacation.

Warm Weather Clothes

This may seem like an obvious one, but there are a number of warm-weather wearables that can make your vacation even better. Here are our top picks.

1. Tank Tops

Tank tops for men can be a difficult wearable to find. A lot of times they are either made to be worn under your clothing or during a workout. And in a lot of cases, they look kind of trashy. So when we say tank tops, we mean good-looking, classy tank tops. A great place to find good-looking graphic tank tops that you can shamelessly wear throughout your warm-weather vacation is www.intotheam.com.

2. Shorts

A few good pairs of shorts go a long way. Find yourself some good-looking shorts that go with anything. Best for a warm weather vacation are a few pairs of well-fitting shorts that are more ‘formal’ (fabrics that aren’t exclusively athletic wear), and a few athletic style shorts. Leave the baggy shorts behind and go for something that cuts off just above the knee, but go with whatever is most comfortable while still making you feel confident.

3. Chinos

When it cools down at night, or if you prefer wearing pants, chinos are the way to go in warm weather. These pants show off your body, can be worn with button-downs, tank tops, T-shirts, or while you’re shirtless and will still look good. They also expose just enough ankle for you to walk on, or play on the sand without getting the bottom of your pants dirty.

4. A Hat and Sunglasses

You don’t need more than one of each of these, but make sure the ones you bring are the ones you like. A good hat for when you need it, and a pair of sunglasses that you can wear anywhere without worry will go a long way to making your vacation more enjoyable, and protecting your eyes.

5. Swim Trunks

This is imperative if you are on a beach vacation. A pair of trunks that you look good in, fit well, and are comfortable to wear may be your most common item of clothing. Take the time to find the best pair of trunks, and make sure that you don’t forget to pack them.

Self Care Items

Next, you need to make sure you bring a few things to keep your body healthy and keep yourself well-groomed. Here are our top recommendations.

6. Sunscreen and Moisturizer

It may be winter where you come from, but it’s warm where you’re going. Best enjoy your vacation without getting too toasted! Bring a bottle of sunscreen with the protection your skin needs, and pair it with a moisturizer. Especially if you get a little burned on accident, a moisturizer is a great way to help yourself heal quickly.

7. Cologne and Deodorant

Gentlemen, this is a necessity for your warm-weather vacation. Let’s be honest, you’re going to sweat, and it’s best that this doesn’t affect the people around you. Bring a travel size of a reliable deodorant, and a gentle cologne that can keep you smelling good throughout your vacation.

8. Grooming Kit

A small grooming kit is a good idea for any vacation, but especially wise for a warm-weather retreat. Bring a personal shaver or razor (depending on your facial hair), any hair stylings you utilize, and anything you need to stay well-put-together throughout your trip.

9. Oral Care

Lastly on our self-care list is your basic oral health kit. Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash. Your dentist will thank you.

Entertainment

Entertainment may be something easy to find on your warm-weather vacation, or you may find yourself struggling to relax, here are a few things to bring to help you find peace in your getaway.

10. A Good Book

Bring a good, somewhat short book with you that you can read in your downtown. This can be a great way to not only further enjoy your vacation, but to feel accomplished during it.

11. Board Games or Card Games

Bringing portable games to play with friends can be a great way to pass the time both enjoying the warm weather and relaxing.

Make a List

While these are our must-packs, you may have your own! Make a list before you leave and check it off to make sure you aren’t missing anything during your warm weather retreat!
