21 Comfort Foods For Fall and Winter

Well, it’s officially November and that means it’s time to pull out the stretchy pants and settle in for the long winter ahead and all the delicious comfort foods that this time of year brings.

This morning I made a list of a few of the meals I want to make this winter, and thought I’d share them with you.

Here’s to a wonderful Tuesday,

Copycat Panera Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup Recipe – Rich and creamy and tastes even better the next day.

Hearty Cheeseburger Soup – Another rich and creamy soup to get you through the chilly months.

Slow Cooker Steak and Potato Soup – This recipe only takes about 5 minutes to toss in the crock pot and then you just set it and forget it. 😉 Very satisfying and tastes like something you’d get in an Irish pub that was filled with locals and had dark wood paneling on the walls.

Easy Chicken Chili Recipe Made with Costco Canned Chicken – Chili and cornbread. Perfection.

Loaded Baked Potato Soup – A stick to your ribs kind of soup. Great served with those little oyster crackers.

8 Can Chicken Taco Soup – Quick and easy and one of our favorite recipes. This freezes well too.

Mississippi Pot Roast – Anything with this much butter has got to be good, right? Simply toss everything in the crock pot, turn it on and come back in 7-8 hours and dinner is served!

Baked Potato Casserole with Bacon and Chives – Made this a few weeks ago and I’m already craving it again.

Cheesy Ground Beef Casserole – I like that this recipe can be made the night before and just popped in the oven right before dinnertime. Filling, and great if you have a house full of empty bellies.

Creamy Scalloped Potatoes with Ham – Simply the best scalloped potato recipe on the planet earth. With or without potatoes. We like to serve this as a main dish.

White Beans and Ham – Great for when you have a bit of extra ham and want something simple for dinner.

Ham and Spinach Quiche with a Delicious Butter Crust – Perfect for when you have a little extra ham you need to use up.

Broccoli, Bacon and Cheddar Quiche – Another great quiche recipe. We usually have a bag of frozen broccoli in the freezer so I like to make this quiche recipe when we have a few extra slices of bacon after a big breakfast.

Fried Cabbage with Bacon – I like serving this as a main dish during the fall and winter months. It’s simple, satisfying and BACON. Need I say more?
Roasted Butternut Squash with Cinnamon and Thyme – Because butternut squash is always on sale this time of year and it’s good for you. 😉 Oh, and it tastes good too.

New England Style Buttermilk Rolls – A little time consuming, but SO worth it!!

Savory Jalapeno Cheddar Scones – I love serving these alongside soup during the colder months. Plus, they freeze well.

Easy Cherry Cobbler Recipe with Canned Cherry Pie Filling – Insanely easy and you probably already have everything in your cupboard. I LOVE this recipe!! Especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Spiced Applesauce Cake w/ Caramel Glaze – Delicious! Perfect for fall, makes the house smell wonderful and it’s great for using up any extra applesauce you have in the fridge.

Zoë’s Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie – This recipe is hands down the best coconut cream pie I have ever had {and I’ve had a lot of pies over the years}.

Cranberry Coffee Cake: This little cake takes the, um, cake. This paired with a cup of tea on a cold morning = perfection.
