3 changes I made to my closet after learning how to dress for my body type -- Not only do I have clothes that actually FIT and look fabulous, but I've saved so much money!

A few years back, I took the Adore Your Wardrobe course with Kelly Snyder and it completely transformed the way I look at myself and my clothing. While this course may not be something you are interested in or in your budget, I wanted to share with you some of the things I have learned.

Changes I’ve made since I took the AYW course:

1. I now own 5 pairs of jeans that fit perfectly — they are the right length, wash, cut AND (most importantly) completely smooth out my muffin top — and donated about 20 pairs that didn’t quite fit right.


Why was I holding onto pants that didn’t work? I was swimming in the dreaded “none of these pants work right but I don’t know what to buy in the store that’s better so I’m stuck” zone.

After the jeans lesson in AYW, those ill-fitting pants were GONE because I now understood what jeans to buy for my body type.

2. I am done with flowy, blousy tops.

Fifteen shirts out of the closet.

There’s nothing objectively wrong with flowy, peasant tops, but they don’t work with my body type. All they do is draw attention to my hips (exactly what short-waisted pears should avoid) and make me look larger than I am.

AYW taught me exactly what tops to wear — the cut, the neckline, the length, and the color. This knowledge gives me the freedom to jump on an awesome deal I find without worrying that I’m making a bad purchase.

3. I am slowly moving to adding accessories to my outfits.

This is a hard one for me because my style is so incredibly casual, but the course has given me the confidence to add visual interest to my outfits in order to create balance and proportion, making me look confident and put together every single day.


I’m not making these changes based on a picture I saw on Pinterest or a fashion blogger’s outfit recommendations.

These changes are based on the science of fashion and FOLLOWING THE FORMULA.

It’s the formula that I can rely on every single day to purchase and wear clothing that looks amazing on ME, regardless of my weight or height or age.
